BRAKE LIGHTS!

You talk about electrical.... Man did I get lucky. If anyone has ever tried to figure out what someone else did you know what I mean. This was NOT a fun job. Lucky for me, there wasn't as much wrong with the lighting as I though would be.

It started off with the Rear Brake lights, Tail Lights, and Turn Signals. When I turned on the headlight, I only had one tail light that worked. The passenger side. Start the Rig and the Reverse light lite on the same side. WOW really? So I guess it off to find out what the heck is wrong with that. I was only going to spend 4 hours at most trying to figure this out before I would give up and have someone else figure it out. Got out my test light and started tracing wires.

Looks like every where I went there was a bad ground. Would you think that on a 33 year old truck? Anyways, only 2 and a half hours later, I'm all fixed.

After I figured out what my issues where, I had to replace to bulb sockets and new bulbs in the back. Once I replaced them all, I did my test and behold.... I have Tail Lights, Brake Lights and Turn signals.

Now it on to way my Reverse lights work they way they do. Ok I'll tell you. For some reason the PO (Previous Owner) disconnected the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) Took the wires that were going to it and tied them all together.

WOW. So I've disconnected the wires for now to see if the Reverse lights till lite when the ignition is on. NOPE all is good in the back now. I'm sure the NSS went bad and instead of replacing it, the PO just cut the plug and tied the wires together. Stupid if you ask me. It's a $14 part. Oh well. Once I get a new NSS I'm sure my back up lights will work correctly.
