Last weekend Tyler and Justin helped out by cleaning out the interior. They cleaned the dash, Shifters, side walls, Vacuumed the 70's shag carpet (this is NOT going to stay in here) Fixed the seat belts, They did a wonderful job.
Now this weekend I was trying to get the tail gate open. For some reason (maybe because it's 33 years old) the tail gate just wouldn't come done.
I took apart the tail gate latch to see if it was even working. Looked good so my guess was it just hasn't been open in years.
I used this stuff called PB Blaster. Man does that stuff work good. It's kind of like WD-40. Let is sit for about 4 hours. Hit the button....nothing. Got out what I call the "PERSUADER" (large screw driver) to see if I could move the latch. Nothing. Then all the sudden I hear it.... a click. Hit the button again and yup the tail gate released. Not I can get back there without climbing over the gate.
I think I'll take her down to the shop and gut the interior... Well not all the way, just take off the headliner, side panels, and door panels.
Also need to look at the DUAL sunroofs. Yup DUAL... I think that's a 70's thing too.
